WTF, DC? WTF?

What the hell is wrong with DC? You guys seeing this picture to the side? Catgirl? F-ing Catgirl?! After reading all this love for Tony Daniel's work on Batman, I decided to get caught up on the book and this is the crap people are liking? The dude's first writing gig was the three issue mini Battle for the Cowl and it was, at best, mediocre. But this? It's a sad time for the Bat-family. Morrison's Batman and Robin is good and all but the only Bat-book worth reading right now seems to be the only one without Batman in it! And that Bat-character is a lesbian (which has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to throw it out there)! What is wrong with DC? Here's my idea: give Geoff Johns the writing reigns for a while. To everything. Let him fix it all. Steer things in a good direction. Then it will at least look like they're trying...

F-ing Catgirl....

  1. As if the idea of a Catgirl isn't awful enough, they apparently felt they had to come up with a character design that made it even more ridiculous. Pink? Really, is that in case we couldn't tell from the breasts that she's a girl. Diamond studded belt and choker. I can see the functionality there, that's what every good thief needs is a belt that doesn't hold anything. And what's with the mukluk boots? Hardly seems like the best footwear for cat-burgling or super-heroing or whichever side of the law Selena plays on now. Which brings us to my absolute favorite part of her costume. The Liefeldesque random meaningless shapes on her wrists. What the hell is that even supposed to be? I don't know "Just draw some shapes and color them pink. It'll be awesome!" This is bad bad bad bad bad bad bad design. Killer-Moth is better design than this! And it only looks that much worse standing nest to the Darwyn Cooke ultra-sleek Catwoman costume, and it's cross between form and function (One of the best designs in a long time). Catgirl, ridiculous!!!!!

  2. Maybe they want to introduce as many children as possible so that they can kill off all the adult superheroes and villains. Then the kids can run the world.

  3. The only thing I will give them is that they are bringing back in the Falcone family (Long Halloween and Dark Victory Falcone family, if ya didn't recognize the name). Catgirl is actually Katrina Falcone. She claimed to be the daughter of Sofia Falcone (I do believe) while she is actually sister to her (I do believe). Catwoman took her on because in the mini When in Rome, they said something to the effect of Falcone was is Selina's father also.... Or something like that. They are trying to make it a family affair so I guess it's at least not some random little girl.

  4. Ah! We talkin' Carmine Falcone from Batman: Year One, and Christopher Nolan's Batman: Year One film adaptation he called Batman Begins? Sounds like it might be an interesting story. . . but the design doesn't make me want to pick up the book.
