The Art of Marco Rudy

 New Avengers Annual was out today and I try to stay away from annuals. They tend to have little or noting to do with the main titles and are typically twice the price. With this one, it's mostly the same. Written by Frank J. Barbiere, the story is one of Doctor Strange as he deals with his inability to except defeat and a demonic parasite. It plays well into what Hickman is doing over in the monthly and while it was a better read than most annuals tend to be, it was still unnecessary to the main story (at least so far). However, the real star is the gorgeous art of Marco Rudy. His is a name that has been around and you've probably seen his stuff without really knowing but you should take heed with this one. It's beautifully painted and wipes the floor with 98% of the filler crap that usually goes into an annual.
