The Comeback Kids

NBA season is a few weeks underway and I try my best to follow what I can. As a native to and relatives living in Utah, I (along with most everyone around here) follow the Jazz. Much as he's become an over-hyped cry-baby, losing Carlos Boozer seemed like a blow. They have no "big man" to compete with the likes of Pau Gasol (Lakers), Dwight Howard (Magic) or Garnett & O'Neil (Celtics) even with Boozer but without him, it's even worse, especially since the biggest guy they have is one of their better 3-point shooters and currently injured. The addition of Al Jefferson is still in the air as to if he will help or not but it's early.
Which brings me to why I'm actually writing about this. It may be early on, but the Jazz easily have the title of Comeback Kids. Currently second in their division, they sit with a record of 5-3, winning the last three. Which also set a new record. This is the first time in NBA history, since the shot clock, that a team has won three strait games where they trailed by at least 18 points! Against the Miami Heat on Tuesday, they scored 14 points in the final 28 seconds to send it into overtime where they won by 2! Not to mention their main center, Paul Milsap, scoring a career high 46 points, including 3 for 3 from behind the arc, 11 of those final 14 points and the game tying basket at the buzzer! A feat like this should not happen, let alone three times in a row but I think it really shows what kind of scrapers they really are and great of a team they can be. At least until they choke in the playoffs again.
But it should be a fun journey until that time.
